Meet The Team

Fr. Kyrill
Fr Kyrill Williams was born and raised near Dallas, Texas. His involvement in the church began in junior high school at the local Baptist youth group. Following graduation from high school, he pursued biblical studies at Christ For the Nations Institute in Dallas, and completed his Bachelor’s Degree from Dallas Baptist University, concentrating in Theology and Philosophy.
While serving in youth ministry, he had the opportunity to visit Russia in 1997. This experience proved to be very meaningful, and awakened a love and longing for the more “ancient life and world” in comparison to life in the United States. Fr Kyrill traveled to Russia every year through outreach to orphanages, finally spending the entirety of 2001 in Kostroma, part of Russia’s ancient Golden Ring. It was during these trips that the seeds of the ancient faith were planted in his heart.
Upon returning to the USA, he found himself in search of a church that could meet the mystical longings in his soul. This was met during a visit to Holy Theophany Orthodox temple in Colorado Springs. Fr Kyrill began faithfully attending services and classes, and was made a catechumen. A group from the parish had been serving in Alaska for a few years, helping to restore some of the important sites of Orthodoxy in America. This particular work trip was focused on restoring a church on Spruce Island, where St Herman ministered and prayed. During a picturesque July sunset, this catechumen was baptized in Monk’s Lagoon, on Spruce Island.
After a few twists and turns in search of God’s guiding will in his life, Fr Kyrill attended St Tikhon’s Seminary in South Canna, PA, in 2005. These were meaningful, important years in his life, and upon graduating in 2008, he remained at the seminary to work and serve. He was ordained to the Holy Diaconate on the Feast of St Herman, December 13, and to the Holy Priesthood the following Feast of the Annunciation. He was assigned to Holy Trinity Orthodox Church in Safety Harbor, FL in 2009. After four years of service, he was transferred to the Holy Transfiguration Cathedral in Denver CO. In 2016, he returned to Florida and completed the education requirement to become a healthcare chaplain at Tampa General Hospital.
In 2017, Fr Kyrill began to serve the parish of St Simeon in Titusville, across the state from Tampa. He eventually moved to the “Rocket City” and began working as a hospice chaplain. On January 1, 2019, Archbishop Alexander blessed Fr Kyrill to serve as the pastor of St Simeon Orthodox Church.
